 Security Systems and Jwaneng Galaxy will go head-to-head for the Orange FA Cup final showdown to be played on June 14.

From the 48 teams seeded at the commencement of the tournament, 46 have fallen by the wayside and it is now only down to two and a case of who will be the last man standing. Both teams registered victories during the double header semifinal fixture played at the National Stadium on May 30 to book a spot for a showdown that carries great weight for both teams in the country’s oldest cup competition.

Tshepho Keselebale’s 11th-minute penalty strike sealed a hard-fought 1-0 win for Systems over VTM FC during the first semifinal game while Onkabetse Makgantai brace secured a 2-1 victory for Galaxy against Matebele FC. Following a horrendous league campaign that led to their relegation from the elite league, Systems have the Orange FA cup to salvage what has been an awful season and it came as no surprise that they fought to the bitter end to defend a slim one goal that could secure them silverware.

The Orange FA cup showpiece has been a tale of a team from any level even non-professional, rising to the top to take down the giants of the game. Systems are no minnows in this story having eliminated some of football superpowers on their road to the final, but their opponents in Galaxy are as big as they come in the game. Having reached a cup final in their relegation season from the elite league, Systems will feel the weight of history on their shoulders, but this will be a cup final and form goes out the window, as it is a one off game.
