Santa Green FC is poised to enhance its standing in the First Division North league this weekend as they aim for a spot in the elite league next season.

Currently leading the league with 37 points from 19 matches, Santa Green FC will face off against Peace Makers on Saturday at the Pekenene JSS grounds. 

After a convincing 2-0 victory over Motlakase Power FC last weekend, Santa Green climbed to the top position and is seen as the favourite to secure another three points, especially with one game in hand.

Peace Makers, on the other hand, have garnered 19 points from 20 games and are in urgent need of a win to improve their league position after a goalless draw against Tsabotlhe FC last weekend.

The upcoming match is expected to be thrilling, promising an exciting experience for football fans.

Santa Green FC’s coach, Tshireletso Leutlwetswe, emphasised the importance of this match, stating, “we need to win this game badly as we have been in second place for a long time, and we can’t afford to make any mistakes.  We are playing at home, we have the psychological advantage, and the mood in the camp is good. Despite the flu season, we are not missing anyone.”

Leutlwetse acknowledged the challenge posed by Peace Makers, who are fighting to avoid relegation and would be desperate for points. 

However, he remains optimistic that his team would give their all to secure the three points.

In other matches in the First Division North, Tsabotlhe FC, currently in second place and also vying for promotion, will take on Makungulupeswa FC at Newton Primary School. Sankoyo Bush Bucks will host Motlakase Power FC at Maun Sports Complex, while Real Brothers FC will clash with Eleven Angels FC at Lucara Stadium. 

Additionally, Calendar Stars will welcome Tshikenyega Tigers FC at the Francistown City Council Stadium, and BR Highlanders will face Mbalakalungu FC at BR Stadium. All matches are scheduled for Saturday, with kick-off set for 3pm. ENDS
