The annual Farmers Field Day organised by the Southern District Beef Farmers Association is scheduled for Saturday at Ngwadiroto Ranch, located 50km from Jwaneng along the Mahotshwane road.

The event, themed: Sustainable Beef Farming for the Future: Innovation, Growth, and Resilience, will feature experts from various institutions, including the Ministry of Agriculture, CEDA, LEA, BMC, and the Office of the President.

In an interview with BOPA on Wednesday, Southern District Beef Farmers Association Secretary Mr Thebe Makgabenyana said the event aims to bring together approximately 100 exhibitors from across the country, focusing on capacity building among local farmers.

Mr Makgabenyana explained that the Farmers Field Day has been a tradition since 1972, created to facilitate the exchange of expertise in the agricultural sector to help farmers achieve optimum productivity at the farm level. As the event, approaches its 55th anniversary, Mr Makgabenyana announced that entry for spectators was free, and stalls would be available for business activities.

For the organisation of this year’s event, approximately P300 000 has been allocated, sourced from membership fees and sponsorships. ENDS
