Tee Pee launches booking application

Tee Pee Transport has rolled out a user-friendly mobile app allowing passengers to book rides, store digital tickets and make payments seamlessly using their smartphones.
The platform also issues electronic receipts, enhancing transparency and reducing fare-related disputes. Speaking at the launch of Tee Pee Transport’s new online booking application in partnership with First National Bank Botswana in Gaborone on Friday, Director for Road Transport and Safety, Mr Bokhutlo Modukanele called on commuters to adopt digital payment methods for both safety and convenience, emphasising the growing concerns over theft, loss and counterfeit currency.
“In an era of growing digital convenience, carrying cash for transport fares is becoming not only outdated but increasingly risky,” he said.
Mr Modukanele, who commended Tee Pee Transport for the initiative, further recommended embracing digital fare payment systems as a smarter alternative.
In an interview after the launch, Gaborone-Kasane commuter, Ms Wame Joseph shared her personal experience, recalling an incident where she lost her wallet in a bus station, which resulted in her missing a trip.
“With digital booking, there’s zero chance of losing money or tickets. It also means drivers and conductors handle less cash, which improves hygiene,” she said.
Ms Joseph noted that as the country moved toward smarter, more efficient systems, cashless transport payments should be embraced as the new norm.
“Going digital is not just about convenience, it is the safer, smarter move,” she added. ENDS
