Church hosts Community Health Day tomorrow
16 May 2025
Health providers will tomorrow in Gaborone participate in a health walk, an initiative of the Dutch Reformed Church in Botswana.
The walk, supported by BOMAID, will include health screening, health talk and support with child friendly activities.
“The intention is to grow the initiative yearly and for other communities to emulate the cause as well,” said BOMAID communications manager, Tshepo Maphanyane.
Maphanyane said other churches had also been invited since the idea was to bring the community together for a morning dedicated to promoting health. Therefore, she urged all to take responsibility in promoting their well-being. BOMAID chief executive officer is expected to join the walk alongside the church’s head pastor.
Health providers participating in the event include Rebaone Renal Nursing Clinic, Elixicare Laboratories, Diagnofirm Laboratories, Renal Care Institute, Bright Ray Physiotherapy, Trauma Counselling Centre, Beacon Clinic, Freeport Adult Day Care Centre, Podiatry Africa, Big Sisters Wellness Centre, Fish and Hope Mental Services as well as Fitness Groove.
