Jwaneng proceeds to FA cup semi finals

11 May 2025

Jwaneng Galaxy’s Theero Setsile was named man of the match in their quarter-final clash against Sua Flamingoes, securing a pivotal 2-1 victory on Saturday.

For his commendable performance, Setsile received P2 500 as a reward for helping his team advance to the Orange FA Cup semi-finals.

Under Coach Seemo Mpatane, who took charge earlier this year, Galaxy has maintained an impressive run, winning eight and drawing one of their last nine matches. This positions them favourably in both the Premier League and the FA Cup as they continue their remarkable form throughout the 2024/25 season.

Sua Flamingoes took an early lead with a penalty conversion in the 5th minute, but Galaxy responded quickly. Thero Setsile equalised in the 26th minute with a standout goal following a fine assist from Major Makgantai.
Just before halftime, Makgantai  found the net, pushing Galaxy ahead to 2-1. This victory guarantees Galaxy a place in the semi-finals, while Sua Flamingoes’ journey in the cup comes to an end.

In other quarter-final matches, VTM FC advanced  by defeating Taung Strikers 5-4 on penalties after the teams finished regulation time level at 0-0.

In the contest between Security Systems XI and Holy Ghost FC, the match also ended in a 1-1 stalemate, leading to a penalty shootout. Holy Ghost  lost 4-3 on penalties.

Following these results, Jwaneng Galaxy, Security Systems XI, and VTM FC have all secured their spots in the semi-finals of the 2024/25 Orange FA Cup.

The last quarter-final, featuring the Kgatleng derby between Mochudi Centre Chiefs and Matebele FC, is scheduled will be played or today at the National Stadium at 3pm. ENDS
