The Jalan Section will transport guests to the heart of Asia with favorites like noodles, satay sticks, and much more. No food experience would be complete without a snack bar featuring tempting items like Chip N Dip, samosas, and spring rolls.
On the craft, exhibitors like Maungo Craft Foods, Alika Jewelery, Bag2Go, Naga Earth, JB Foods as well as renowned visual artists Karabo Maine and Tlotlo Malakaila would showcase their products.
While guests savour various beverages, explore captivating art, and indulge in a melange of flavors, they will be serenaded by the rhythmic sounds of talented artists including Alton Miller, Owen Rampha, House Junkies, Dizzy Dee, Romeo, and Tay Something.
“The objective of this event is to introduce different food flavors and beverages to the Gaborone event space while educating attendees through experiential tasting. Taste is a big component of the event,” explained event curator Lesedi Magowe.
Themed: Know Your Beverages, Know Your Crafts: Know Your Artist, the event also serve as an education drive for people to know and understand that there is more out there to what they are accustomed to. Magowe said the event is targeted at people who are looking for more on their usual weekend entertainment, whether young or old.
“We want to see people who want a break from the norm and people who are open to experience new things in a chilled environment that will not intimidate them,” he said. Additionally, Magowe said people could expect to try some Italian wines, some spritzes namely the Aperol Spritz and Limonetto Spritz.
Guests can expect to sample a variety of Italian wines and spritzes, including Aperol Spritz and Limonetto Spritz, as well as South African wines like Mhudi, Land of the Giants, and Sarah’s Creek “Participants will not only enjoy the tasting experience but will also learn about the stories behind these brands,” he noted.
In collaboration with Schweppes, guests will also learn how to craft flavorful twists on traditional Gin & Tonics and other easy cocktails they can replicate at home. It’s important to highlight that free beverage tastings will take place from 3pm to 5pm on the day of the event.
Three ticket tiers are available for the Gaborone Food, Beverage, and Craft Market, priced at P300 (including a cab ride to and from the venue), P200 (without cab service), and P250 at the door.
“We encourage the cab-inclusive ticket option to discourage drinking and driving,” Magowe said
“We have partnered with the ride hailing app Yango, so those buying the Cab Ride ticket will have to download the app and simply hail a ride on the day to get to the venue and then hail one to get back home,” advised Magowe.ENDS
