Botswana girls seek COSAFA championships glory

The female youth national team will leave for Namibia tomorrow to compete at the COSAFA Under 17 Girls Championships 2025.
The tournament featuring nine Southern African countries will be held at the Dr Hage Geingob Stadium in Windhoek from May 10 to 17. Botswana has been pooled with neighbours Zimbabwe and Lesotho in Group C.
The Young Mares will commence their campaign with a clash against Lesotho on Sunday before taking on Zimbabwe the following day.
The team, drilled by former Mares star, Bonang 'Bebeto' Mosetlha, has been training hard at Lekidi Football Centre in preparation for the competition as they aim to progress to the knockout stages following their elimination at the group stage last year.
Namibia, Malawi and Comoros are in Group A while Zambia, Mozambique and Mauritius are in Group B. The defending champion is Zambia.

Midfielders: Masego Botshelo (Eyes on the Ball), Princess Moilwa (Township Rollers), Amogelang Phinius (Ginomai), Ketshedile Segopodiso (Radisele CSE), Reatile Setlhako (Jwaneng Galaxy), Natasha Khumoetsile (Radisele CSE), Refilwe Kelekabile (Marula Sporting Club), Doricah Nkatswang (Mogoditshane CSE), Rebecca Bogosi (Radisele CSE)
