School resources unsatisfactory
05 Feb 2014
Parliament has been informed that the resources allocated to 753 primary schools for use in the teaching of practical subjects are not satisfactory.
Responding to a question from the Member of Parliament for Kanye North, Mr Kentse Rammidi, the Assistant Minister of Education and Skills Development, Mr Patrick Masimolole said the situation was caused by various factors mainly being the needs competing over a limited budget.
He, however, said his ministry would continue engaging the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development as well as the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning during budget preparations in order to increase budgetary allocations for practical subjects if resources permit.
MP Rammidi had asked the Minister of Education and Skills Development whether she was satisfied with the resources allocated to primary schools for use in the teaching of practical subjects such as Science, Agriculture, Home Economics and others. ENDS
