BDF officers entitled to annual leave
05 Feb 2014
The Minister of Defence, Justice and Security, Mr Dikgakgamatso Seretse says under the Botswana Defence Force (BDF) Officers Regulation 31, officers are entitled to 30 working days as annual leave.
Answering a question from the Member of Parliament for Francistown South, Mr Wynter Mmolotsi in Parliament on January 4, Mr Seretse said other ranks were entitled to 25 working days annual leave under Regulation 24(2) of the Other Ranks Regulations.
MP Mmolotsi had asked the minister if he was aware that members of the BDF have always been entitled to twenty-two days annual leave but were instead paid for twenty days. He said if so, the minister should state what plans are in place to compensate them including those who have retired. ENDS
