Spin City pilots auto festival
03 Feb 2014
Spin City Motor Events Management (MEM) in association with Robot Auto and Game City Mall will host the first ever Bots Finest Auto Festival in March.
The event will be held at the Game City Mall and is expected to attract car dealerships and car admirers from all over the country and beyond. Spin City, who recently organised kart racing at the Airport Junction Mall in Gaborone, will bring a different show this time around.
There will be no spinning cars but the auto show events will be sound off championships, show and shine, dyno testing, pimp my ride pageant, car and bike club display, virtual racing as well as exhaust rev competition.
Cars with the loudest sound will be tested, the most pimped cars will be displayed and cars with the best engines will be presented. During the launch of the festival at the Game City Mall food court last Friday, Spin City event manager, Joseph Khenyere said the main purpose of the show is to separate people who pimp cars.
He encouraged people who like cars and the ones who have the hottest cars around to come and represent their clubs. The festival will also a be a car oriented family fun day where children will be provided with jumping castles, face painting, colouring competitions and remote controlled cars. Car dealerships will showcase their cars while car clubs and bike clubs compete against each other.
Best club car and motorcycle competitors will be crowned as the overall championship winner at the end of the event. Winners will be given trophies and other prizes afterwards.
Nonetheless, to allow everyone the opportunity to go home victorious at the end of the day, people can also win plasma screens, cellular phones and money amounting to a thousand pula through Facebook competitions.
During the launch, Spin City and Robot Auto displayed three motors and gave people the tip of the iceberg by showcasing what people should expect at the event. The event will be hosted three times every year and the upcoming one is regarded as part one.
Spin City is also working with International Auto Sound Challenge Association (IASCA) from South Africa. To put the icing on the cake, Speed and Sound magazine and Ignition television are expected to cover the event. ends
