There are no plans to construct a primary hospital in Shashe West due to financial constraints, Assistant Minister of Health Mr Lawrence Ookeditse has said. He said the ministry however was in the process of building two clinics with maternity wards in Borolong and Mathangwane under the Transitional National Development Plan (TNDP) 2023-25 with capacity of 14 beds each. He said the clinics were allocated to the Development Manager, Bothakga Burrow and were currently at stage 2 of design awaiting approval of the Maximum Guarantee Price (MGP) before resuming construction. Minister Ookeditse said extension of hours of operation for Borolong clinic would be considered after completion of construction of the clinic. Shashe West MP Jeremiah Frenzel had asked the Minister of Health if there were plans to construct a primary hospital in his constituency either in Borolong, Mathangwane, Chadibe or Shashemooke.
