Chiefs appoint duo as coaches

Mochudi Centre Chiefs has appointed Pontsho ‘Piro’ Moloi as head coach and Sekhana ‘Nandos’ Koko as assistant coach.
Moloi's appointment is on a two-and-a-half years contract to steer the club forward.
Both are the club’s legends, having been with the side during its glory days of Ernest Molome as chairperson and the late Clifford Mogomotsi doing public relations and communications.
The appointment of the duo follows some shaking moments that swept through the Kgatleng FNB Premierhsip giants camp in recent days.
Former financier and majority shareholder Jimmy Kereng parted ways with Chiefs citing unresolved financial issues.
Speaking to YTV, a private television station recently, Kereng revealed that his departure stemmed from management’s failure to address the club’s bank account issues.
“I attempted several times to get answers from management, but they failed to respond. I gave them until 30th December, and when nothing materialised, I had no choice but to withdraw my support,” he explained.
Kereng planned to reclaim assets brought under his tenure, including players on loan contracts from Township Rollers and Jwaneng Galaxy.
When contacted by BOPA for a comment, Mochudi Centre Chiefs chairperson, Victor Kobe declined to discuss details of the split.
“We’ve agreed not to disclose anything about our past relationship with Kereng to avoid tarnishing each other’s reputation,” he told BOPA.
Kobe said negotiations are ongoing to retain loaned players.
Chiefs are perched comfortably in position five of the FNB Premiership log and have been doing well since their return to top flight football. ENDS
