Shoshong Primary Hospital and other DM projects under review
22 Dec 2024
Shoshong Primary Hospital project was to be developed through Development Manager model but is currently under review like other DM projects.
This was said by the Assistant Minister of Health, Mr Lawrence Ookeditse when answering a question in Parliament recently. Mr Ookeditse informed the House that the project was awarded to K-Hill Consortium.
The Assistant Minister said he was unable to indicate when construction would start, adding that would be guided by the outcome of the review. He further said the actual cost of the project that was allocated P20 million, would be determined upon completion of the feasibility study and approval of the Maximum Guarantee Price (MGP).
The Assistant Minister further said the district leadership was fully engaged adding the DM in July said construction would start in September subject to the approval of the MGP.
“However, this was not achieved as it took longer than anticipated to interrogate the design concepts as presented by the DM to ensure compliance to the end user requirements and standardising the hospital projects allocated to the same DM,” he said.
Shoshong MP, Mr Moneedi Bagaisamang had asked the minister to brief Parliament on the status of primary hospital and staff housing to be built in Shoshong. He also wanted to know when the construction would start and the cost of the project.
MP Bagaisamang further wanted to know what caused the delay after the DM had said the project would start in September.
