Masingwaneng Water Treatment Plant expansion on cards
22 Dec 2024
The Ministry of Water and Human Settlement plans to expand the Masingwaneng Water Treatment Plant and supply it with water from Ntimbale Dam during National Development Plan (NDP) 12.
Minister Oneetse Ramogapi revealed this when responding to a question from Nkange MP, Mr Mothaleemang Moalosi in Parliament. He said at the moment, water from Ntimbale Dam could not reach Maitengwe, Dagwi, Changate and Nkange due to limitations of Masingwaneng water treatment plant and the supply pipeline.
Minister Ramogapi said the North-East and Tutume District Water Supply Scheme project was designed to cover 36 villages in North-East District and 12 villages in Tutume District. The project was designed to supply water from both Maitengwe boreholes and Ntimbale Dam.
MP Moalosi had asked if there were plans to include all villages in Nkange constituency in the Ntimbale water reticulation to provide potable water to villages currently faced with water supply challenges. Ends
