The season is a pivotal time for business, as consumers are ready to open their wallets and spend.

People are ready to splurge, whether it is purchasing Christmas home décor, clothes or gifts for their families, hence, Beyond Targets Marketing Company grabbed the opportunity presented by the launch of Boteti Time Pop-Up market in Letlhakane, held from November 23 to 28, to market their business.

Boteti Pop-up market is a product of ‘Simply buy Botswana mall’, which was launched in partnership with Gaborone City Council through Social and Community Development department, which is a one sale stop shop for local products and services.

It is powered by Time Projects and Prime Time.

Beyond Targets operations manager, Mr Oboletse George said Pop-Up market was also an incubation for budding enterpreneurs and small medium enterprises.

The Pop-Up market aims to provide a convenient, direct sales and marketing for local businesses’ products and services.

“Most of the people participating in the programme are poverty eradication beneficiaries with an extension of empowering self-funded businesses owned by women.

The objective is to try and customise the template to suit the local people on its goal to enhance gross domestic product.”

One of the local exhibitors, Ms Sadi Bonkganne, sells home-made organic products for hair and facials, made from shea butter, rosemary, cloves and olive oil ordered from Ghana.

The products are sold from Losi Court in Letlhakane and the area does not have that much exposure to the market.

The Pop-Up market, she said accorded them an opportunity to get more clients interested in their products and also to learn a lot about the products.

Another exhibitor, Ms Gofaone Ramalebang, who sells cakes, said the Pop-up benefitted their business as they had only established a customer base in Orapa.

The market, he said gave them the opportunity to introduce and promote their new cake flavour called carrot lerotse cake to the clients in Letlhakane.
