Malak faces Tom in final today

Botswana’s promising tennis player, Malak Macheng will face Zimbabwe’s Rutendo Tom in the International Tennis Federation/CAT under 14 girls singles final to be played today.
Malak, who played Claire Majeed from Zimbabwe in the semi-final, had to dig deep to proceed to the final and won 6-4,6-2.
Malak said in an interview that she was aware that the final game would want her to be mentally sharp for her to do well.
She said she was happy with her semi-final performance, adding that she started her match on a high note.
“Claire was a tough opponent, but I was able to stay on my feet and won the first set 6-4, second set I was a bit shaky I was nervous, but I was able to get a 4-0 lead, she then gained two game and it scared me a lot,” she said.
