Absa Bank has unveiled a new, state-of-the-art facility in Francistown, adding to the banking options available in the city.
The new bank, located at the Galo Mall, features an array of services and amenities, including three brand new Automated Teller Machines (ATMs), bringing to 16 the number of its ATMs in the city.
The facility is called the Four in One as it provides services of business banking, standard customers, premier and prestige banking.
Speaking at the launch on October 23, Absa Bank managing director, Ms Keabetswe Pheko- Moshagane said the new facility would offer a more convenient and efficient way to carry out banking transactions.
She explained that the opening of the Four in One branch underscoresd Absa's commitment to expanding its presence in key markets and delivering innovative solutions to meet the evolving needs of customers.
Ms Pheko-Moshagane further indicated that by investing in modern technologies and enhancing its network of branches and ATMs, Absa was helping to drive financial inclusion and empowering individuals and businesses in Francistown and beyond.
She also explained that residents of Francistown could now look forward to a more streamlined and convenient banking experience right at their doorstep.
On other issues, the managing director said Absa has been a proud part of the Francistown community for many years, and that the new branch was a testament to the bank’s longstanding commitment to the city and its people.
Ms Pheko-Moshagane indicated that Francistown was not just a strategic hub for Botswana but was also a thriving community area where customers’ stories drive the bank’s purpose.
“The revamping of this branch allows us to better serve the evolving needs of our clients, from individual customers to business entities, while contributing to the city’s economic growth and development.
We are excited to continue contributing to local initiatives and collaborating with key stakeholders to ensure Francistown remains a vibrant economic centre,” she added.
The managing director also stated that for women business owners, Absa has designed a product called See Her Empowered Business Account, popularly known as the SHE account.
This account, she explained, offers various benefits to women owned businesses.
“In recognition of the working capital challenges that SMEs face from time to time, we have launched a P200 000 unsecured loan facility that SMEs can easily access to meet their short-term business needs,” she added.
Ms Pheko-Moshagane also stated that to support secure and convenient payments, the bank now offers payment capabilities on smart phones through a solution called Mobi Tap.
“This is a convenient way for different small to medium business owners such as taxi operators and vendors to receive and collect payments from their customers,” she added.
Furthermore, Ms Pheko-Moshagane indicated that Absa recently introduced Metallic Signature Card adding that the Signature credit and debit card was packed with incredible benefits.
In his welcome remarks, Galo Absa branch manager, Mr Remmy Beregani said Absa was passionate about empowering Batswana to achieve its financial goal, whether through savings, loans, investments, or its cutting-edge digital solutions.
However, Mr Beregani explained that banking goes beyond transactions by building relationships and giving back in ways that could make an everlasting impact.
“At Absa, we believe in being more than just a bank.
We are committed to being responsible corporate citizens, making sure that we play an active role in supporting and uplifting the communities we serve. Through our partnerships with local organisations, we are helping to create opportunities, spark positive change, and build a brighter, more inclusive future for all,” he added.
He also indicated that innovation was at the core of the bank’s operations, citing that recently Absa opened its first ever self-service center at The Fields Mall in Gaborone.
Similarly, he said the Galo branch provided new ways to banking, that were faster, smarter, and more convenient.
“In this fast-paced digital age, we know how important it is to have seamless and convenient banking options at your fingertips. Our digital platforms, like Spark Absa and our mobile app, are designed to give you the freedom to bank on your terms, anytime, anywhere”, said Mr Beregani.
