Motswagole joins ITTF council board

The Botswana Table Tennis Association (BTTA) President, Kudzanani Motswagole has been elected into an eight-member committee of the International Table Tennis Association (ITTF) Africa Council and ITTF Board.

The election took place during the recent elective Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. BTTA Public Relations Officer, Tshegofatso Malepa said the election was a significant milestone for Botswana and also for the Southern Africa region.

The ITTF Africa Council and ITTF Board’s other members are Khaled El Salhy (Egypt), Joe Carim (South Africa), Thomas Kiggunndu (Uganda), Sounou Ferdinand (Benin), Olabanji Oladapo (Nigeria), Zayati Jalel (Tunisia) and Alfred Bagueka (Cameroon).Malepa said Motswagole’s election into high profile body governing table tennis in the continent was testimony of his dedication to advance table tennis in Botswana and beyond the borders.

She said under the tutelage of Motswagole, BTTA has made significant strides in developing the game, partaking in various competitions as well as hosting international tournaments.

Malepa said her new role in the ITTF Africa Council was expected to amplify her efforts in developing table tennis and offer new opportunities for the country to enhance its impact in the game. Ends
