Da Rosa expects tough Cape Verde

Zebras gaffer Didier Da Rosa expects his side’s opponents, Cape Verde to be a tough nut to crack tonight at the Obed Itani Chilume at 6pm.

Zebras and Cape Verde lock horns in a return 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier second leg match after Da Rosa led boys recorded a vital 1-0 away win against Cape Verde last week Thursday.

For both teams this match is more than just a game, but a pivotal moment that could shape their journey towards the prestigious 2025 AFCON tournament.

Da Rosa said they anticipated a very tough game against Cape Verde, a game he heralds as a decider as to which team remains in the qualifier race.

He said humility and maximum concentration was what the Zebras needed to proceed to the next stage.

The coach said the team had few mistakes to correct such as keeping the ball close and closing out spaces that can lead to Cape Verde scoring.

He said despite challenges they encountered, the team was very determined and ready to win the game and reach their target.

Da Rosa said a win was vital for Botswana, adding that the team will fight hard to secure a win.

He urged Batswana to attend the game in large numbers to give Zebras all the support.

Botswana Football Association head of marketing, Masego Busumane said the Zebras arrived from Cape Verde on Sunday, adding that they were happy with the performance of the team thus far.

“It was not an easy away game, but they managed to come out as victors and we are looking forward to a better delivery here,” she added. Ends
