Extension Gunners redeemed themselves by beating Wonder sporting club 1-0 in a beMobile Premier league encounter in Lobatse on January 18.
The only goal of the game came through a long range effort from outside the box by Pako Modikwa in the 25th minute of the first half. Although it was his debut game,Modikwa who is on loan from BDF XI restored Extension Gunners pride as he scored the game’s solitary goal.
Gunners Coach Mike Sithole said his boys played as a unit and showed character. He told BOPA that although they have been coming from a series of defeats he used a new team that would soon bounce out of the relegation zone. “We are still beefing up our squad as the transfer window is still open,” Sithole said adding that at the moment, they are still awaiting clearance papers of his side’s new Zambian striker.
On the other hand, Wonder Sporting Club coach, Sthando Mogwadi said his charges lost the game due to concentration lapse and Gunners managed to utilize that chance and scored. Mogwadi said the game could have ended in a draw as the two teams were equally balanced. ENDS
