18 Sep 2024

Director of Angel Network Botswana, Mr Mompoloki Mogobe has encouraged entrepreneurs to act with purpose to ensuring a legacy that will transform lives.

Speaking at the Apostolic Faith Mission (AFM) business forum in Gaborone recently, Mr Mogobe said entrepreneurs had the power to create lasting change.  He said there was a valley of death in every business and it was the responsibility of every entrepreneur to survive it.

He said perseverance, persistence and grit was what could take them out of the valley, adding that success often came to those who persisted in the face of adversity.

He further said that it took moving from comfort zone, boldness, courage and faith for one to make a difference.

Mr Mogobe said  entrepreneurs should learn and study as education enabled one to do the best. He also said education had to be as practical as possible as.

He further observed that leaders were avid readers and it was important to attain basic level of awareness especially in one’s field of expertise and economic endeavor.

Mr Mogobe urged  entrepreneurs to think of impact beyond themselves.

“Be a creator and curator of content to market your goods and services,” he said.

He also emphasised profit with purpose and entrepreneurs to be conscious of their purpose.

He added that wealth was to serve a purpose beyond the business by giving back.

For his part, the president of AFM Botswana, Reverend Tonka Rachabatsotlhe said the forum was a fund raiser to build the national conference centre in Mahalapye, which was envisioned to serve as a hub for future Church and business events as well as  community initiatives.

He said project sponsorship opportunities were available, offering partners the chance to be part of a transformative project that aligned with the values of sustainability, community development and long-term impact. Church members pledged  P1 000 towards the project.

Reverend Rachabatsotlhe said the facility would not only be a landmark for the AFM but also a valuable resource for the broader community, providing a space for various activities aimed at fostering both spiritual and economic growth. ENDS
