Tsabong-based Kwaito artist, Thabo ‘Tizo’ Bimbo has released a single titled Tsala Yame.
In an interview, Bimbo said Tsala Yame was a song of hope dedicated to a friend, who has passed on. The Kwaito artist unleashes his emotions through music, which is one of the key avenues that he finds solace in.
The single, which was produced by DJ Skizo at Omaweneno and mastered by Zolasko Lab at Gaborone, is currently enjoying radio airplay and has been performed on Btv1 Mokaragana television show.
“This project is a way of honouring a friend who passed away. In this song, I share beautiful memories of a cherished friend and so anybody who has a valued friend that passed away can relate with my lyrics,” he said.
The talented musician, who is also the Botswana Musicians Union (BOMU) vice chairperson for Kgalagadi South, said plans were underway to release the Tsala Yame video before December. Bimbo, who usually oozes electrifying passion on stage, is no newbie in the music industry. He has helped to develop many young artists in the Tsabong District and worked with established artists such as the late Mapetla and Mingo Touch.
He released singles Maruping go a Boelwa in 2017, and Wa Maloba le Maabane in 2019, which he said had done well in the market. His dream as BOMU vice chairperson for Kgalagadi South is to unite artists for the benefit of the music industry.
“We have noticed that we are not united as artists. We want to build our networks to enable us to work closely together.
We want to fight sabotage that is happening in the industry, and drug abuse which causes a draw back for many artists,” he said. ENDS
