Cresta Mowana gives Kasane hospital a facelift

Cresta Mowana Safari Resort and Spa has completed part maintenance of Kasane Primary Hospital which entailed painting of the hospital exterior walls and decoration of the paediatric cubicle.

The project was complemented by painting of the interior funded by government through Chobe District Health Management Team.

Handing over the project on Tuesday, Cresta Marakanelo managing director, Mr Mokwena Morulane stated that a clean and aesthetically appealing environment was necessary for a health facility as it lifted the spirits of patients and healthcare providers.

He said Cresta Marakanelo made a Corporate Social Responsibility pledge to give back to communities they operated in which was fitting for them to extend a helping hand to the hospital by giving it a beautiful face.

“Hospitals are a sanctuary of hope and good wellbeing of patients. It gives courage and brightens the mood of employees to work in a conducive environment,” said Mr Morulane.

He indicated that part of the company’s profits were channeled to CSR initiatives.

Mr Morulane thanked clients and explained that every time they sought services from Cresta, they invested in people.

He said CSR drive was centered on health, education and sustainable environment hence they continued to invest in projects that had a positive impact in the community.

Mr Morulane expressed gratitude to the healthcare workers through Chobe DHMT for serving Botswana diligently and extended appreciation to Cresta Mowana team for collaborating with DHMT to ensure they delivered quality work within reasonable time.

Secretary of Preventative Health Services at the Ministry of Health, Dr Mareko Ramotsababa thanked Cresta for choosing to invest in the ministry through the Kasane hospital.

He commended Chobe DHMT for opening its doors for stakeholders to offer any form of assistance, noting that the ministry treasured partnerships geared towards improving healthcare services as Botswana’s primary healthcare services continued to be admired by the world.

Chobe District Council Secretary, Mr Joseph Segopa stated that the beautification of the hospital exterior was a gesture that left a mark in many hearts since the state of the exterior had been a public outcry. He indicated that the hospital was positioned in the heart of Kasane and it mattered that the facility looked appealing.

Mr Segopa said since Kasane was positioned as a Meetings Incentive Conferences and Exhibitions (MICE) destination, it required facilities fitting of global standard adding that the ongoing Kasane/Kazungula Redevelopment Project was projected to further give Kasane a new look that positioned it as a competitive global destination of choice.
