The phrase by His Excellency President Dr Mokgweetsi Eric Keabetswe Masisi, ‘go tlaa nna monate’,came alive in most parts of the country Tuesday when Batswana stood united in celebration of Botswana Olympics team that returned from Paris, France.

Donning national colours, thousands packed the National Stadium where the main event took place and it would have been amiss for an occasion of that magnitude to take place without song and dance as it is the norm with Batswana.

Ezra Neethlings and Dr Vom were a marvel to watch.

Ezra entertained the gathering with his hit song Danko, a track that has earned him international acclaim, prompting the audience to join in and sing along.

Such was an incredible display of patriotism that not only honoured Team Botswana for winning gold and silver medals at the games, but also a celebration of being a Motswana at a time when the world, in particular Africa took notice and appreciated the history made by Tebogo Letsile in winning Africa’s first gold medal in the 200m race. 

Dr Vom took to the track with his signature stick in his hand performing Tsaya Thobane, a song that has become synonymous with celebrations such as the Tuesday event.

Han C, Vee Mampeezy and Chef Gustos also made the list of entertainers.  ENDS
