Central derby ends in stalemate
13 Jan 2014
As the second round of the be Mobile kicked off overt weekend, different encounters were held across the country and in Central, it was Motlakase Power Dynamos against their arch rivals Miscellaneous.
The encounter ended in a one-all stalemate. The game was played in front of a fully packed Swallows grounds in Palapye.
Though there was much euphoria in the build up to the game between the fans of the two camps, the encounter started in a low note with both teams cautious not to concede early but it was Miscellaneous who drew first blood in the 20th minute through a spot kick when Chouka defense fouled Segolame Boy in the area.
The lanky lad who has since endeared himself to the hearts of Miscellaneous fans through his dribbling skills and the ability to beat any keeper on any given day eluded the Chouka defense leaving the keeper with no choice but to bring him down and the resultant penalty was coolly converted by Kamogelo Molemogi.
Chouka pressed hard in search of an equaliser and their efforts were rewarded late in the half through a Lapologang Walaza Motlogi’s free header after Miscellaneous were caught ball watching and failed to deal with a rather tame indirect free kick.
After recess Chouka seemed like a more determined lot to take all the points, but the youthful Miscellaneous contingent stood their ground and thwarted all efforts.
The new kid on the block on the books of Chouka Ronald Kefilwe who is reportedly been plying his trade in Slovakia was the toast of the day as he had fans eating from the palm of his hand thanks to his nimble touches in the middle of the park. ENDS
