Parliament will tomorrow suspend the afternoon business in order to join the nation to welcome the team that represented Botswana at the just ended Paris Olympic Games.

The team is expected to arrive tomorrow at the Sir Seretse Khama International Airport at about 2:45pm.

That followed a proposal by the Speaker of the National Assembly, Mr Phandu Skelemani to suspend tomorrow’s afternoon business as well as legislators unanimously supporting the proposal so that they can also be a part of magnitudes who would be at the SSKI Airport to welcome the team. 

As such, Parliament would tomorrow start at 9am and end at 1pm.

Legislators agreed that Botswana did exceptionally well and therefore deserved to be welcomed as heroes and heroines, hence looking forward to welcoming the team to show their support and commitment in the development of sport in the country.

They said being a part of the Batswana welcoming the team and celebrating its achievements was a sign of patriotism to the nation.

On one hand, Minister of Transport and Public Works, also Good Hope/Mabule MP, Honourable Eric Molale announced that his family would gift the team with 23 pregnant heifers.  ends
