Three outstanding riders, Matlhogonolo Botlhole, Gomolemo Kelaotswe and Subho Ghosh emerged highly competitive during the third quarter of Tsela Riders cycling club race on Sunday. 

The trio of Botlhole, who registered as an individual, recorded 2:55:26 for the elite category, Kelaetswe of Tsela Riders club clocked 2:55:44 for the under 23 category while Team Swift’s Ghosh logged a 2:55:45 all in the 120km distance as per their categories. 

They constantly pushed each other along to perform at their best, taking control of the lead in the final kilometres of the race. 

The 120km race began at Borundi Private Lodge and campsite along the A1, towards Mosaditshwene where they made a turn. 

Going back south on the A1, the riders took two intermediate loops in Rasesa before continuing to the police road block to make the last turn to the finish line where they started. 

The breakaway by the three riders, who won the club race, was made during the loops.

In the elite ladies, Moratwa Matlhaope and Lebopo Kono, both from Tsela Riders club also displayed an impressive performance in the 90km distance race registering 2:52:50 and 2:53:25 respectively. 

Tsela Riders club race, which also incorporated female and male youth, veterans, masters and corporates categories, was equally thrilling and competitive. When closing off the ace, Tsela Riders chairperson, Charles Vaughan, urged cyclists to continue supporting the sport and further encouraged them to pitch in numbers for the National Individual Time Trials scheduled for August 11.
