Construction of Machaneng District Agricultural offices are being undertaken with the prioritisation of Machaneng offices in the budget for this financial year, Assistant Minister of Agriculture, Mr Molebatsi Molebatsi has said.

Mr Molebatsi said this in response to a parliamentary question on Wednesday. He said a team would be sent for the site reconnaissance sometime in August or September in order to establish the suitability for construction of new offices.

“My ministry is aware of the state of Machaneng District Agricultural offices and the fact that offices have been declared environmentally unfit for continued use,” he said.

In the meantime, he said the ministry was looking into procuring porta cabins for temporary relief while a more permanent solution was being undertaken.

Dr Kesitegile Gobotswang, MP for Sefhare/Ramokgonami, had asked the minister to update Parliament on the state of the Machaneng District Agricultural offices and state whether there were plans to construct new ones. Ends
