Rollers appoints Sebata as President financier

Township Rollers has revealed Tendai Sebata of Sebata Group of Companies as the teams president and financier for five years.
 
Sebata succeeds  Jimmy  Kereng whose term ended on 30 June 2024.
 
Though the details of the agreement between the two parties are yet to be disclosed, Sebata is expected to be allocated 80 per cent of the  club’s shares with the remaining 20 per cent held  by the society.
 
 Addressing the media on Thursday, chairperson of Rollers, Bafana  Pheto  said the appointment of Sebata marked yet another great milestone in the ever-evolving life of  Rollers Football Club.
 
Pheto said the club’s new venture would breathe a new lease of life into  Botswana’s  biggest  sporting  brand and enhance professionalism as well as boost the clubs operations.  
 
“It is impressive that Popa Popa Ea Ipopa as we are known to our supporters and well-wishers the world over," he said, adding that they continue to attract credible partners. 
 
Pheto described Sebata as a passionate Rollers supporter. He would assume control of the team operations with the support from  the national executive committee and management.
 
“For smooth operations, structures will be put in place to ensure that both parties’ interests are protected at all times and all is done in the best interests of Township Rollers Football Club and its stakeholders,” he said.
 
For his part, Sebata expressed confidence in the team's future prospects, reassuring fans and stakeholders that the club was in capable hands with his leadership. “It is with honour and humility that I get to lead Township Rollers, arguably the most  powerful and successful club in Botswana. I  extend my deepest  gratitude to the society for entrusting me with this monumental role,” Sebata said.
 
Meanwhile,  Rollers also announced Mogomotsi Mpote as their new head coach on a two-year contract. ENDS
