09 Jul 2024

The first Winter Warmers with Sebaga left the audience tapping their feet, nodding their heads and singing along local soulful tunes.

Held at the Zest Restaurant on Sunday, the session featured Sebaga, Brian Rasesa, Spoken, Lee-Ann and Tshenolo. It drew a good crowd despite the chilly evening that was not only warmed by live soulful tunes, but also the outdoor fire to keep the audience and musicians heated.

The success of the Winter Warmers with Sebaga session is proof of the power of local music and its ability to attract a diverse audience due to its unique authenticity and power to inspire as well as to bring families and friends together for celebration.

Rasesa nearly stole the show with his soulful guitar melodies and gave the audience a taste of his latest Extended Play (EP) titled, I still think about you but don’t want you to made aware of it

Rasesa’s treble strings guitar gave smooth souls with a cool-jazz horn sound on the background with his voice adding another layer and extending the harmonic chords and colouring the melody. He played One week, Heartbreaks come and go and They say time let us heal, which he explained were about breakups.

He revealed that he would release his EP in a month.

Lee-Ann and Tshenolo then took the audience to another level with their orchestra harmonies and the crowd enthusiastically clapped and cheered to the enchanting sounds.

And saving the best for last was the main act of the evening, Sebaga who enchanted her audience with popular classics and pop in her saxophone.

In an interview, Sebaga said the session was inspired by the people following her annual October show, and that they begged her to do something before the big show.

Sebaga expressed her gratitude to the attendees who turned the session into a warm and wonderful gathering.

She said their presence contributed to the success of the show and strengthened the bonds that made Botswana music special. Ends
