 Voorslaag Boteti Agriculture and Mining Exposition 2024 is expected to bring more advanced knowledge and long term partnerships to Botswana market.

This was said by event organiser Ms Tlotlo Gaobinelwe in an interview noting that the 2024 programme themed: Growing dreams, harvesting success for a greener Botswana, kicks off today and ends on Saturday.

She said the event  focused on opening avenues of collaborations between Botswana and South Africa beef master farmers. 

 She said the aim was to train start-up farmers to venture into livestock production, enhance production and introduce them to new markets.

Also as part of  today’s activities, Ms Gaobinelwe said there would be a student learning corner, competitions for students as well as art and debate.

Art category has been secured for primary, junior and senior school students including teachers. 

“The competitions will be followed by team building for students and teachers while a panel discussion led by Boteti Multi-purpose Cooperative Society is scheduled for the afternoon,” she said. .

She explained that the Thursday programme encompassed prize giving for students’ competitions and that the winning art piece would be auctioned. 

Student competitions would be followed by small stock production panel discussions. Ms Gaobinelwe said the official opening of the event was billed for Friday and prizing giving ceremony for sponsors will take place in the afternoon followed by small stock auction.

The main sponsor of the event is Minerals Development Companies Botswana as well as Debswana, National Development Bank, Water Utilities Corporation and Botswana Power Corporation among others. Cattle auction takes place on Saturday with Stockman’s Choice as facilitators and stalls will be open to members of the community. ENDS
