Official urges businesses to partner exploit opportunities

Business owners in Ramotswa have been encouraged to come together and take advantage of value chain opportunities, to drive economic growth and development.

Speaking at Metlhala ya Khumo recently in Ramotswa Business Community chairperson, Mr Mothusi Motsumi, stressed the importance of collaboration and coordination among businesses.

“We need to work together as a community, to identify and exploit value chain opportunities,” he said.

He stated that by connecting businesses and creating synergies, they could create new market opportunities, reduce costs and boost the local economy.

Mr Motsumi said that value chain partnerships could help businesses in Ramotswa to better serve their customers, as well as expand their reach to new markets.

“Whether it’s through sharing resources, pooling expertise, or creating joint ventures, there are numerous ways that we can leverage the power of partnerships to drive growth,” he said.

The challenges facing businesses in Ramotswa were highlighted by Mr Motsumi at the forum, revealing a range of issues affecting various sectors.

Transport businesses, informal traders, textiles, car wash, hospitality and brick-making all expressed their concerns about competition, pricing, quality and access to resources.

Mr Motsumi emphasized the need for government’s support and policy reform, to create a level playing field for local businesses.

“We need to address the challenges faced by our businesses, whether it’s through improved infrastructure, regulation, or support for our local industries,” said Mr Motsumi.

The appeal for government assistance and policy changes was echoed by other community members at the forum, who argued that the success of local businesses was crucial for the development and prosperity of the village as a whole.

Member of Parliament for Ramotswa, Mr Lefoko Moagi said bureaucratic hurdles often hamper youth development and entrepreneurship.

He called upon government departments to simplify processes and facilitate local business growth. Ends
