Sales backed by a strong marketing programme and networking are key to attaining a successful business.

Classic Creations CEO, Mr Thato Kesupile said this during Business Expo dubbed Maitisong Showcase Bonfire, which the company held in collaboration with Kanye’s Lodubeng Village Park.

He underscored the need for businesses to continually build good customer base through networking and focus on building a mix of customers who could be interested in accessing additional services and recruiting new ones.

On that note, Mr Kesupile shared that it was, therefore, crucial for business owners to attend networking events regularly in order to attract customers.

He advised that such initiatives as Maitisong Showcase Bonfire were a wonderful opportunity for entrepreneurs to meet and engage with their clients and those from different environment and advised them to take advantage of such.

“The idea behind Maitisong Showcase Bonfire is to attract entrepreneurs from the corporate environment and create that flawless ambiance for them to engage with one another.

Mr Kesupile further emphasised the need for concerted efforts across government and the business community in order for the small businesses to grow and achieve their vision.

He, however, commended  government for introducing Chema Chema initiative, which was meant to empower small businesses and also inspire start-ups.

He admitted that through the initiative, a significant slice of the business community would realise massive growth.

“There is a robust determination of small businesses who intend to forge ahead and endure the face of uncertainty in the business sector, in this case they need to be mentored on strategies that they can adopt as they navigate an intricate economic landscape,” he said.

He indicated that the mission was to encourage young people and creatives to have a business mindset and learn to market and promote their business.

He said they had engaged with the ministry of youth, Local Enterprise Authority, as well as the Department of Gender Affairs with the view of bringing services closer to the people.

“We have also roped in a fun time activity so that the parents can engage on their business matters while the children are treated to fun through jumping castle, electric cars and bicycles,” he said.

For his part, upcoming artist, Mr Karabo Pelekekae commended the organisers for availing a platform for artists and potential entrepreneurs to exchange ideas and seek opportunities.

He indicated that initiatives such as these could help them to engage and rub shoulders with some businesses personnel, adding that through the event, he was also able to meet with LEA personnel to establish how he could benefit from the organisation. Ends
