Shade nets are essential in protecting assets or anything else from being exposed to excessive sunlight and other harsh weathers.
Speaking to BOPA during the ongoing Business Botswana Northern Trade Fair, Kalahari Shades Net Plant Operator, Mr Otsile Malatsi, said the company was established in 2020 during the COVID-19 period in Selebi Phikwe by one, Mr Joseph Ithobogeng who was funded by Citizen Entrepreneurial Development Agency (CEDA).
Mr Malatsi said Kalahari Shade Net’s mandate was to manufacture quality and durable nets to supply sectors; the agro business sector, leisure sector, industrial and commercial sectors, not forgetting individuals.“Our products protect people and external dwelling areas from harmful UV rays, sun, and other weather elements,” he said. “Kalahari Shade Net intends to improve agro-business output and enhance architectural dwellings, appearance and feel.”
Mr Malatsi said they found it important to showcase their products at Business Botswana Northern Trade Fair because the fair had farmers who were more into the horticultural business and that their services would be of much importance and use to them.
“As for the agro-business sector, our shade nets can be able to reduce damage by UV and frost, reduce water loss and protect plants from birds,” he said.
Mr Malatsi said Kalahari Shades Net were looking forward to establishing partnerships with entities in the northern region to grow their business, and so far they collaborated with a shop in Francistown called Mockvet which distributes their products. Ends
