Naledi partners with DRA Global

The partnership between Naledi Mining Services Company and DRA Global is expected to drive innovation in the mining industry and propel growth through enhanced safety and sustainability standards.
Speaking during the signing ceremony of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two companies in Jwaneng on May 15, Naledi Mining Services Chief Executive Officer, Mr Bokang Thitoyamore, said owing to their shared visions, the collaboration would empower them to bridge gaps and explore emerging opportunities in the industry.
“We share a common vision of driving innovation, enhancing safety and advancing sustainability in the mining industry,” he said. “This partnership will empower us to explore new frontiers and seize emerging opportunities as they come.”
Mr Thitoyamore said networking opportunities created by the partnership would not only promote the company’s growth but would also benefit employees through skills development to position themselves for the vibrant mining sector.
He added: “For Naledi, this relationship provides unprecedented access to DRA’s extensive global network and skills, opening new opportunities for growth. Our employees stand to benefit from the invaluable training, upskilling and retooling opportunities, more especially with the changing landscape of skills.”
Mr Thitoyamore said partnering with DRA Global resonated with their aspirations of becoming an industry leader even on the international stage, leveraging on their reputation for excellence in mining services.
He appreciated the impact of such partnerships in driving mining solutions through collaborating the partners’ resources.
Beyond the company operations and employment creation, he noted that the collaboration would go a long way in showcasing Botswana as a hub for sustainable mining practices, thereby reaffirming the country as the best mining investment destination.

For his part, DRA Global Chief Executive Officer, Mr James Smith, said the partnership came at an opportune time when Botswana’s mining industry was on a transformation journey, particularly the underground diamond mining.
He noted that their vast experience and track record, which spans over 40 years, would contribute towards diversifying the country’s mining sector.
“This year holds particular significance for DRA as we celebrate our 40th anniversary and embark on this pivotal partnership during a transformative period for Botswana’s mining sector, which is transitioning to predominantly underground diamond mining operations.
