19 Feb 2024
Rescue Solutions Capital’s Chief Executive Officer, Mr Kutlo Marman has vowed to help distressed businesses in the SPEDU region to revive and thrive.
Addressing business community at Hotel Selebi on Thursday, Mr Marman said his company was an emerging citizen owned company focused on distressed business investments, deploying appropriate capital and operational solutions to save collapsing businesses and job losses.
He said the SPEDU area was his first contact because it was a unique manufacturing hub which had the potential to turn the country’s manufacturing industry around and help diversify the economy of this country.
He explained that it was important to rescue businesses in the SPEDU region for them to continue thriving and increase the country’s exportation base, adding that the company also focused on deploying appropriate capital and operational solutions to save collapsing businesses.
Mr Marman said part of the exercise would be to identify some of the challenges experienced by businesses and find ways to help them to stand on their feet by helping to re-capitalise them and providing them with operational skills.
He said some of the businesses facing financial challenges were under-capitalised at the start of the project hence the need to help them attract potential funders to assist them. He said under capitalization was bound to bring about other challenges making it difficult for the business to operate and ultimately lead to the collapse of the business.
The CEO explained that his team comprised of various professionals in the business sector, adding “we are better placed and better resourced to deal with distressed businesses.”
One of the business operators in the SPEDU region and also the Managing Director of Oxygas Pty Ltd Mr Keabetswe Molebatsi thanked Rescue Solutions Capital for coming up with the initiative to help rescue businesses in the SPEDU region so that they did not shut down.
He shared the same sentiments that the SPEDU region had so much potential, emphasizing that it was the most advanced of all the economic zones.
Mr Molebatsi said Rescue Solutions Capital was welcome in Selebi Phikwe, adding that local investors in town were looking forward to working closely with Rescure Solutions Capital to revive businesses that were on the verge of collapsing.
The local business community decried challenges such as financial, operational and market distresses. ENDS
