Leomboko - A1 access road to be marked
14 Feb 2024
Assistant Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Ms Talita Monnakgotla says the marking of the Leomboko A1 access will be done later this year.
Answering a question in Parliament on Monday, Ms Monnakgotla said her ministry was floating a tender for the road markings.
She said she was aware that the road was not marked upon completion, which she attributed to contractual issues with the contractor who was engaged in the Tonota-Francistown road project.
She explained that the tender that was floated through the Tonota District Council was due to close on February 16.
She further said in the interim, the district council had installed regulatory signs to guide motorists and to minimise road accidents.
Tonota MP, Mr Pono Moatlhodi had asked the minister if he was aware that the Leomboko A1 access road was not marked upon completion. He also wanted the minister to state when markings would be made. ENDS
