There are 72 171 government employees who have been serving for the past 10 years. Minister for State President Mr Kabo Morwaeng said this when responding to a question in Parliament, stating that the figure comprised of 65 777 central government employees while 6 394 were local government employees. 

Minister Morwaeng also said currently they were 47 610 civil servants aged between 45 and 60 and of this 43 234 were from central government and 4 376 from the Local Government. 

He said there were 32 363 permanent and pensionable civil servants from 2013 to date, of this, 27 590 were from Central Government and 4 773 were from Local Government. 

Member of Parliament for Serowe North Mr Baratiwa Mathoothe had asked the Minister to state the number of government employees that have been serving for the past 10 years, current civil servants aged between 45 and 60 as well as permanent and pensionable civil servants from 2013 to date. ENDS
