First-ever Corporate Social Responsibility (CRS) conference, courtesy of CSI Concepts Foundations, to be held in Gaborone n February next year is a platform for businesses to forge impactful partnership for sustainable growth .

Giving an overview of the conference on Tuesday, Managing Director of CSI Concepts, Mr Archibald Ngakayagae, said the conference intended to focus on how companies reinvented their business strategies by incorporating CSR initiatives into their core business.

Mr Ngakayagae said the conference was a timely liability to help businesses shape and usher out sustainable CRS practices, adding that such was also a means to enable companies to reflect, introspect and strategically align their practices to sound CRS practices.

The CRS conference will be held under the theme ‘Transforming business strategies by integrating CSR objectives into core operation, through innovation and forging impactful partnership for sustainable growth”.

Mr Ngakayagae said the theme will accord participants an opportunity to gain insights into cutting edge global and local CRS practices and techniques.
“The conference offers a platform for researchers and other practitioners an opportunity to share and exchange on latest innovations, trends, challenges and solutions in the fields of CRS and sustainable developments,” he said.

Some of the issues to be discussed include, evolving perspectives on how CSR generates value for corporations in line with changing trends and strategic planning to identify optimal social investments projects and implementing robust monitoring and evaluation systems to maximize the impact of CSR interventions among others.

Mr Ngakayagae said the conference would be followed by the awards that intended to recognize companies that continuously make efforts in projects that continuously make a difference in communities.
He said 12 categories have been availed and such included: best in community project, excellence in provision of literacy and education award, best workplace practice, CSR leadership, safety and health, ICT and Innovation, women empowerment, as well as the product excellence awards among others.CSI Concepts intend to support inclusive and sustainable community development projects, it also seeks to bridge the gap between the corporate world and communities among others.
