The Construction of a new clinic with maternity wing in Pilikwe is planned for implementation during the Transitional National Development Plan period.

Assistant Minister of Health, Mr Setlhomo Lelatisitswe revealed this in Parliament on Monday. He said the project has been awarded to the Development Manager (DM), K-Hill Consortium for design and build.

He added that the DM would be responsible for the construction and refurbishment of several other health facilities. He further confirmed that the DM signed contracts on October 24 which included the construction of Pilikwe Clinic.

The concerned DM, he said, started to do the phase one work which consists of stage one and phase two and the actual construction is expected to start by end of the financial year with completion expected by March 31, 2025.

Meanwhile Mr Lelatisitswe also told Parliament that Borotsi Clinic without maternity that was donated by Leseding Interiors was ongoing and it was anticipated to be completed by January 2024.

Sefhare/Ramkgonami Member of Parliament, Dr Kesitegile Gobotswang had  asked for timelines on the construction of Pilikwe and Borotsi clinics. ENDS
