GNT register win

08 Dec 2013

A brace by Cosmos Sebona ensured that Debswana first division north campaigners Great North Tigers (GNT) secured maximum points during their league game against Sankoyo Bush Bucks in Tatisiding over the weekend (December 7).

Both goals were scored from penalties. Bush Bucks could only salvage a solitary goal from open play.

GNT who were the hosts were awarded a penalty in the 29th minute after a foul in the opposition area which was easily slotted by the left footed playmaker who gave Kutio Kabelo in Bush Bucks goals no chance. Despite dominating the first half and playing entertaining carpet football, Sankoyo’s attempts at goals were in vain. However, lady luck smiled on them in the 39th minute as they equalised through Dipateletso Gaongalelwe who slotted an easy goal as the GNT defence slept on the job.

Bush Bucks’ Lathang Gabatshole then fouled the home team’s Otsile Kediegile to win a second half penalty which his teammate Sebona easily converted. The visitor’s players exchanged neat passes amongst each other but lacked the killer punch to finish off most of their moves. Monowe Thato failed to score for his team after receiving a neat pass from the right flank as he was stopped by Sefalana Sefalana in GNT goals who made crucial saves that kept his team in the game.

Sankoyo Bush Bucks raided the host’s defence but found Sefalana in an uncompromising mood as he managed to deal with all their consistent and dangerous attacks. GNT captain, Barulaganye Radiakanyo was a liability and made his team to work overtime by losing possession during crucial moments in the middle of the park which gave the visitors an upper hand in the game.
