Stern away test for Black Forest

16 Nov 2023

It will be a test of character when URI Black Forest travel to the mining town of Jwaneng on Saturday afternoon for a tricky date with red hot Jwaneng Young Stars in a Debswana First Division South league encounter at Galaxy stadium on Saturday.

Magoleng, as Black Forest are fondly called in Mmankgodi, will need to double their efforts and display an inspiring performance to beat Dinaletsana, as Young Stars is also called.

Jwaneng lads are riding the crest at the top of the closely contested league and had shown resilience and impressive performance in their recent outings scoring 12 points from a possible 15 in their opening five matches. The have only lost 0-3 to Tlokweng United.

Magoleng on the other hand will not be guided by their recent form but the quality of football they sometimes play.

Coming from a hard fought victory of two goals to one against one of the favorite teams in the league, Notwane, Young Stars seem to be on a cruise mode.

However, Forest would be looking to close the three point gap while away,   but Stars, apart from their scintillating form, will be enjoying a large home crowd following from their die hard fans.

That on its own is likely to pose some problems for the visitors.

Another headache for Forest is the in-form Serati Semadi who seems to have found his scoring boots for his side, netting six goals in his last five outings.

Forest will rely on the tried and tested Wilfred Dithwane and Thabo Motlhabane, the team’s two leading goal scorers.

In another game, Tlokweng United, who managed to pull a shocker over the weekend by humbling Extension Gunners by a goal to nil, will pay a visit to an unpredictable Mochudi Center Chiefs at River plate stadium on Sunday.

Chiefs, who shared the spoils with City Polar last weekend would be looking to redeem themselves too as they are touted to be the league’s favourite even though they are currently blowing hot and cold.

One of the weekend games that will surely pull the crowd will be a duel between the two giants Extension Gunners and Notwane to be played at the National Stadium at 7pm.

The two teams are just separated by a point and the encounter will surely produce sparks as bragging rights would also be at bay. Uniao Flamengo Santos will take on Mogoditshane Fighters while Desert Nxau will tackle UB Hawks.

All other games  on Saturday and Sunday will be held at 4pm. ENDS
