The Minister of Lands and Housing, Mr Lebonaamang Mokalake has told Parliament that Pepere Island is located in concession area NG12 which forms part of the Okavango Delta in the Ngamiland district.

He stated that the total land mass in this concession area is approximately 16.3906 hectares.

Mr Mokalake said the area has been allocated to All Star Investments (Pty) Ltd for non-consumptive tourism activities with the lease of the area having commenced on August 8 2008 terminating on August 8 2023 The minister said the current land use for the Island remains non- consumptive tourism as per the lease.

MP for Kgatleng West, Mr Gilbert Mangole had asked the minister to state the total land mass and geographical location of Pepere Island and whether it has been allocated and to who. He further asked him to state when the allocation was made and what the stated land use was then and what the current land use is for the Island in question. ENDS
