Ngamiland has over 500 backyard garden trainees

Five hundred and seventy eight people in Ngamiland/ North West District attended the initial awareness training for backyard gardens by September2013, parliament was told.
Responding to a question, minister for Presidential Affairs and Public Administration, Mr Mokgweetsi Masisi said the training was followed by an assessment to confirm that they qualify for enrollment.
He said after assessment, only 549 qualified. However, the minister said due to water shortages, 184 beneficiaries opted for alternative packages. Mr Masisi was responding to a question that was asked by Okavango MP Mr Bagalatia Arone who had asked the minister to state the number of trained beneficiaries from Ngamiland, out of the 578 who have been trained under the poverty eradication programme and the constituencies each of them comes from.
