Since parliament adopted a motion calling for review of Kgotla profile ministry of Local Government and Rural Development has taken a decision to increase the budget for department of Tribal Administration.

Answering a question in parliament, the ministry’s Assistant Minister, Ms Botlogile Tshireletso said the budget increase was meant to cater for procurement of furniture equipment, training and replacement of vehicles among others.

She noted that during the current financial year, a total of P15 948 000.00 has been allocated to the department of Tribal Administration for maintenance of offices and staff houses.

Further, she said out of a total of 74 vehicles due for replacement this year, 43 have been allocated to the department calling for the review of the profile of the Kgotla in August 2013. ENDS
