Bank empowers women entrepreneurs

In a continued display of its dedication to empowering women entrepreneurs, Absa Bank Botswana hosted another installment of its impactful workshop series, “Reimagining your Business for a Better Future.”

The workshop took place in Gaborone last Friday, featured speakers who shared invaluable insights on crucial aspects of business success.

Absa Bank Botswana Acting Head of Compliance, Ms Puseletso Nyamambi addressed compliance essentials for business.

“Compliance is the backbone of a reputable and sustainable business. Navigating the regulatory landscape is key to long-term success, and I was honored to guide women entrepreneurs on this critical journey,” Ms Nyamambi said, emphasizing the importance of compliance.

Legal Advisor at Absa Bank Botswana, Mr Keletso Tebele, provided insights on Understanding the Law for Business.

He highlighted the significance of legal understanding in the business sphere, expressing delight in contributing to the growth of women entrepreneurs.

He said a solid grasp of the legal framework was vital for women entrepreneurs, citing that this knowledge could safeguard their businesses and help them make informed decisions.

He said empowering women in the business sphere remained a top priority for Absa Bank Botswana, therefore reimagining one’s business for a better future workshop series was just one example of how the bank continued to play a pivotal role in society, enabling women entrepreneurs to thrive. These workshops aimed to provide practical knowledge and tools that could make a substantial difference in the trajectory of women-owned businesses, he said.

On one hand, finance director at Absa Bank Botswana, Ms Cynthia Morapedi, stressed the importance of knowledge in business tax basics because taxes were part of the business.

She said understanding tax fundamentals could help women entrepreneurs optimize financial strategies and ensure sustainability of their ventures, mentioning that she was pleased to assist them in this crucial area.

She said Absa Bank Botswana was dedicated to advancing women’s leadership in the business world.

“By providing valuable insights and knowledge through workshops like these, we aim to empower women entrepreneurs to make informed decisions, navigate complex business landscapes, and achieve lasting success,” she said. ENDS
