Botswana to host Kidpreneur Summit

Finance Kids Botswana has announced its partnership with Nigerian entity Kidpreneur Africa to host the Africa Kidpreneur Summit next year. Finance Kids Botswana, is committed to promoting financial literacy and entrepreneurship education for children between six and seventeen years.

The founder of Finance Kids Botswana founder Ms Tshepo Thaba, said the summit was a continent-wide initiative aimed at inspiring and nurturing the next generation of African entrepreneurs.

The Africa Kidpreneur Summit, initiated by Mrs Juliet Obi, the founder of Kidpreneur Africa from Nigeria, was designed to empower young, innovative minds, educators, policymakers, and industry leaders.

The goal is to foster entrepreneurship, innovation, and leadership for African children while breaking down constraints that often limit young innovators on the continent.

“Finance Kids Botswana has been chosen to host this landmark event in Botswana, a testament to our dedication to raising a generation of successful young entrepreneurs, lore le ojwa le sale metsi is what drives us,” said Ms Thaba. 

Scheduled tentatively for August 14-16, 2024, the Africa Kidpreneur Summit in Botswana promises to be a transformative gathering of young visionaries and change-makers.

The event will feature plenary sessions, engaging panel discussions, themed masterclasses, kidpreneur showcases, exhibitions, pitch competitions, Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives, and more.

One of the summit’s highlights would be the Kidpreneur Pitch Competition, providing a platform for young entrepreneurs from across Africa to present their innovative business ideas, the aim being to secure sponsors and partners from the audience, including individuals, institutions, and businesses.

The best participants from Finance Kids’ entrepreneurship and finance master classes will also have the opportunity to become Kidpreneur Ambassadors, representing Botswana on the global stage. The summit will not only empower young talents but also highlight Botswana’s dedication to nurturing entrepreneurship in Africa.

It is expected to strengthen partnerships, encourage collaboration, and inspire the development of innovative educational programs to empower the next generation of African entrepreneurs. ENDS
