Mokaila not aware of royalty payments

Minister of Minerals, Energy and Water Resources, Mr Kitso Mokaila says he is not aware of any payments of royalties from minerals resources, which were previously paid to the councils.
He said his ministry collected royalties from proceeds of the sale of minerals resources as provided for by Section 66 of Mines and Minerals Act of 1999.
He was responding to a question asked by Okavango MP, Mr Bagalatia Arone, who wanted to know why payment of natural resource royalties to councils was stopped. Ends
