It was an action-packed weekend at the Botswana Boxing Association (BoBA) tournament held at Botswana Defence Force (BDF) Donga camp in Francistown, with fighters from across the country competing for glory.

The energy in the arena was electric as the boxers entered the ring, with fans cheering on their favourites and showing their support.

As the competition heated up, punches were traded and bodies were buttered, but the boxers persevered through the pain and pushed themselves to the limit.

One of the thrilling match actions with fans on the edge of their seats was between Mmusi Tswiige and Kagiso Bagwasi in the 80kg category.

Tswiige and Bagwasi battled it out for supremacy in the ring.

In the end, Tswiige pulled ahead by a few points in a gruelling fight.

The power and determination of both boxers left a lasting impression on the crowd, with neither pugilist giving up despite the stinging blows.

This was truly a match to remember and a testament to the skills and endurance of both athletes.

In a post-match interview, Tswiige exhausted from the bout said it was a war of attrition.

“It was a battle of wills, a test of endurance and I am glad I came out on top. I am just happy to have won in front of such a great crowd,” said Tswiige.

As he spoke, fans continued to chant his name, celebrating the victory and making it clear that he was a crowd favourite.

He said Bagwasi was a worthy opponent and ‘I respect him for the fight he put up’. Another interesting and mouthwatering duel was between Phemelo Balatlhegi and Kgosi Msimako.

 As the crowd roared and the tension rose, Balatlhegi and Msimako stepped into the ring for a fight that will remain etched in the minds of boxing fans.

Boxers were evenly matched with each boxer landing powerful punches and refusing to give in.

But in the end, it was Msimako who came out on top, leaving Balatlhegi bruised and beaten. In an interview, BoBA public relations officer, Taolo Tlouetsile said the tournament went as planned. Ends
